Show Notes

Today on Parents in the Know, we have another special episode from our interview series. This episode will be particularly useful for single parents, but I think that everyone can get some valuable insight from the topic. This time we’re talking to Marina Bakker, a relationship expert for modern times. She is a psychotherapist, coach, educator and author. She works with people of all kinds to assist with relationship growth and uses neuroscience education and therapeutic approaches to get the best results for her clients.

Marina has created several resources for adults to help them break the cycle of dangerous or unhealthy relationships and get into the right headspace for successful and fulfilling relationships which you can purchase on her website, counsellingworks.com.au. She is now focusing on building networks of community support to help people to build resilient relationships.

Marina’s latest book is called Dangerous Liaisons, which talks about how to identify and avoid the types of people who cannot maintain healthy relationships, but who are instead self-serving and deceptive.

Next week on Parents in the Know we’ll return to our usual format and take a look at the ins and outs of reading to children. Why it’s important, what to read, how to read and when to read – everything you need to know about Reading to Kids, next week on Parents in the Know.
