Are you a parent with a story to tell? Come on, EVERY parent has a thousand stories, right?

We love reading stories about what life is like for parents around the world. Every family is different, and every culture adds a new dimension to what family means in today’s society.

Whether it’s the crazy, funny things your little one says, or the near-tragedy that became a family legend, whether it’s the story of how you and your family weathered grief or trauma, or how you made a different kind of family work, we’d love to hear from you.

#MyParentingStory is your opportunity to tell the world about parenting your way. Any parent or carer is encouraged to submit their story. Contribute to the pool of parental experience out there and help another parent who might be struggling.

Let’s Get Practical is the place where you can share the knowledge you’ve gained in practical skills, from cooking and go-to recipes, to gardening and DIY, anything and everything that might help another parent is going to find a home right here. Share your expertise!

Don’t let your fear of expressing yourself in writing stop you! We will help, encourage, give direction and edit if needed, or we will keep out of your way and let your story tell itself – whatever works best for you.

Guidelines for #MyParentingStory:

  • We prefer stories that are between 600 and 1000 words, although we are flexible here.
  • We love pictures! If you’re willing to share an image or two of your family, that’s wonderful! But there’s absolutely no obligation.
  • Anonymity – if you want it, it’s yours. Just let us know.
  • The best kind of stories are like the ones you tell your friends: think about what you’d say to a friend over coffee and write that down. Anecdotes, conversational style is the best, but if your story needs to be told in a different way, tell us and we’ll do our best to help.
  • Please send us your story in a Word document.
  • Submit your story, plus a short bio (at least tell us your name and country) and any images, in an email to info @ parentresourcecentre.com – and you can write to us there if you have any questions or need further clarification. You can contact us via the form here as well for an initial chat (you cannot attach files there).

Guidelines for Let’s Get Practical:

  • If you have pictures, wonderful! Please send them along, especially if it will help parents understand your instructions. If you don’t have images, don’t sweat it – we will work with what you can send us.
  • When offering practical advice, it helps to give a little overview at the top, about what you’re teaching/showing, and when/why/how it has worked for you. Then put your instructions or tips in bullet points or a numbered list with nice short sentences.
  • If you are not a genius on the computer, don’t worry about it! Send what you can and we’ll help you get it looking A+.
  • Please send us your story in a Word document.
  • We’d love you to provide a short bio (at least tell us your name and country) and a picture of you and your family if you wish.
    • Submit your story, plus your bio and any images, in an email to info @ parentresourcecentre.com – and you can write to us there if you have any questions or need further clarification. You can contact us via the form here as well for an initial chat (you cannot attach files there).

We can’t wait to hear from you!
